CBD for animals: What are the benefits?

We are not the only ones who experience anxiety , stress or pain. Our pets are suffering too. The difference is that they are less able to complain and make themselves understood. Today the popularity of CBD for animals is growing more and more as some owners consider it a natural option to relieve the symptoms of their favorite pets.

First of all, it is important to recognize the signs that they are not doing well:

• Increased or strange shaking, barking, or meowing
• An animal that urinates in unusual places, licks itself more often than usual, or hides.

We are not the only ones to have an endocannabinoid system , all mammals have one. Like humans, animal bodies are designed to run on cannabinoids like CBD.

The difference is that it doesn't affect them the same way it does us, because they are smaller and have more delicate organisms. It is therefore very likely that they do not need as large a dose as we do. As with humans, there is no ideal dose. Every animal is different and it takes time to find the right dose.

Of course, don't confuse CBD with THC, the high part of cannabis. You shouldnevergive THC to your pet as it can be very toxic to them.

The general rule is that you don't give your pet anything you wouldn't use for yourself. There is no need to give your pet any special pet oil . In general, it is recommended to start with between 0.5 and 5 mg of CBD (1 or 2 drops at 5%) for animals weighing 4.5 kilos, twice a day. As always, the ideal is to start with a small dose and gradually increase the dose every 4 or 7 days, if necessary.

Depending on your pet, you can put it directly under the tongue. Otherwise, simply place a few drops in his food, in water or milk for example, or simply on a treat that he likes.

Note, however, that when mixing it with other foods, CBD takes longer to act than sublingually.
