How to make CBD cosmetics like lotion, cream or ointment with CBD oil ? Topicals based on cannabidiol may have anti-aging, antibacterial or anti-inflammatory properties. In this article, we will show you how to easily make your own products.

CBD lotions are the lightest form of topical product because they are made up of 75% water. They are therefore easy to apply and absorb quickly into the skin .

Cannabidiol lotion contains just four ingredients: an oil base, water, an emulsifying agent, and your favorite CBD oil. The type of oil base you use actually affects the texture of your CBD lotion. To obtain a lighter consistency, choose almond, sunflower or apricot oil; for a slightly denser texture, opt for argan, jojoba or coconut oil.

• 12ml cup of oil base
• Up to 36ml cup of distilled, mineral or spring water.
• 4 ml of beeswax
• 2 ml of CBD oil
• Essential oils (optional)

• Gently heat the oil base and beeswax in a bain-marie and stir well until the wax melts.
• Add your CBD oil and stir until it is completely incorporated into the mixture.
• Remove from heat and add a few drops of essential oil (if using).
• Let cool slightly, then slowly add your water while stirring continuously to check the consistency of the lotion.
• Pour your lotion into a jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Cannabidiol cream is made using more oil than water, so it will be much thicker than cannabidiol lotion.

Cannabidiol cream is made from the same ingredients as the lotion, but the oil base and water are added in different proportions to change the consistency of the final product.

• 36 ml of oil base.
• 12 ml cup of distilled, mineral or spring water.
• 4 ml of beeswax
• 2 ml of CBD oil
• Essential oils (optional)

The preparation is identical to that of the lotion, only the quantities differ.

Salves are perfect for intense application of cannabidiol and can also be a good option for relieving sore muscles and joints.

Cannabidiol salve is the easiest product to make because it only contains three essential ingredients: an oil base, an emulsifying agent, and your CBD oil. It's the complete absence of water in this recipe that makes the ointment so thick compared to the cream and lotion.

• 48 ml of base oil
• 6 ml of beeswax
• 2 ml of CBD oil
• Essential oils (optional)

The preparation is therefore the same as for lotions and creams; the only difference is that you don't add water. As the mixture cools, the ointment will become thicker and thicker, so you will need to transfer it to an airtight jar before it sets completely.

You can also use your preparations for other treatments, for example by adding

• Vitamin E or rosemary essential oil to fight against aging;
• Tea tree essential oil, against acne;
• Eucalyptus and lavender essential oil, to soothe your muscle pain.
