Comment ressentir rapidement les effets du CBD

How to quickly feel the effects of CBD

Romain Lyomat

Although cannabidiol provides a clear and soothing effect, different routes of administration provide slightly different experiences.

We invite you to discover the different methods of consuming CBD, so that you can find the one that suits you best.

Smoking and vaping

Smoking and vaping gives CBD almost immediate access to the bloodstream. When you take a puff, the cannabis smoke or vapor quickly enters your lungs. It doesn't take long for the molecules to reach the bloodstream, latch onto the corresponding receptor sites, and begin to work.

The duration of the effect varies between individuals from 10 minutes to 3 hours

This method has the following advantages:

  • Efficacy: these methods offer an almost instantaneous dose of cannabidiol;
  • Satisfaction: smoking or vaping is a relaxing ritual for many users; taking the time to smoke provides relaxation and peace of mind.
  • Choice: consumers can alternate pleasures by selecting different varieties.

But it also has drawbacks, such as:

  • The smell: with each puff, you release aromatic terpenes into the environment. If you want your cannabis use to remain private, you need to take this into account.
  • Health: Although vaping avoids combustion and the subsequent creation of carcinogens, we know that smoking does not benefit our lungs, nor our health in general.

Sublingual Mode

Sublingual administration means that you put CBD under your tongue.

The thin layer of tissue allows the CBD oil to diffuse quickly through the capillary beds and directly into the bloodstream.

The duration of the effect varies between individuals from 5 minutes to 6 hours

This method has the following advantages:

  • The healthy side: the absence of smoke or fear preserves your lungs, while having access to a rapid effect.
  • Discretion: sublingual administration doesn't send a cloud of terpenes into the air; you can consume it at home or at work without being noticed.

Cons include:

  • Taste: Some cannabidiol oils can have a nutty taste. But it remains a concentrated product whose taste quality is not renowned, and which may put some people off.
  • The dosage: overall, CBD oil allows a very precise dosage. However, if you place drops under your tongue without having a mirror handy, the amount poured may be hit or miss.

Oral

Ingested cannabidiol passes through the intestine, then to the liver, before entering the bloodstream where it begins to take effect.

This digestion can take between thirty minutes and an hour. However, the effects generally last longer and are felt for up to 6 hours depending on the individual.

If you are not in a rush, oral cannabidiol will give you a sustained and clear experience.

This method has the following advantages:

  • Maximum discretion: by adding CBD oil to coffee, tea, juices and soups, you can consume the cannabinoid in complete privacy.
  • The taste: you can mix CBD oil with almost anything; put a few drops on a candy, a fruit or whatever you like.

Cons include:

  • Waiting: if you prefer a quick start, move on.
  • Bioavailability: the digestive tract is a hostile place, which does not favor the rate of absorption; some of the cannabidiol will only transit without reaching the bloodstream.

Topical

Topically applied CBD is a great way to nourish your skin.

The duration of the effect varies between individuals from 1 hour minutes to 6 hours.

This method has the following advantages:

  • A complete range: CBD users have many supports at their disposal among creams, balms, lotions and serums.
  • Supporting ingredients: cannabidiol cosmetics contain other skin-nourishing natural ingredients that work alongside the cannabinoid (shea butter, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E…).

But topically applied CBD doesn't reach the bloodstream, so you won't experience any mental effects.

How to speed up the effect of CBD?

Take CBD with fatty foods
Cannabinoids are fat-soluble molecules, which is why most cannabis recipes contain a lot of fat.

Choose a full-spectrum CBD oil
Full-spectrum CBD oils contain a rich cocktail of cannabis phytochemicals. Along with high cannabidiol levels, you get a healthy dose of aromatic terpenes that work with the cannabinoid to create more pronounced effects.

Keep CBD oil under your tongue
Sublingual administration provides quick effects, but still requires some patience. Many users swallow the oil a little too soon, which reduces its effects. Leave the drops under the tongue for at least one minute to allow maximum absorption before swallowing.

We hope that these tips will allow you to make the most of the beneficial effects of cannabidiol!
